Finance & Public Works Application Process

Obtaining an application:

Applications are available in the City Hall Annex between the hours of 8 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday or online by clicking here. Resumes may accompany applications.
 

Submitting your application:

Applications must be complete to be considered for employment. Misrepresentation and incomplete or inaccurate information may cause application rejection, removal from the employment pool, or discharge from city employment.
 
 
 

Checking on status of application:

Applications remain active with the city of Bogalusa for the current calendar year plus an additional year. During this time, an applicant may update their application. After December 31 of the second year, an applicant must fill out a new application to be considered for open employment opportunities. All employment opportunities are contingent upon completion of various pre-employment tests and/or physical examinations.
 
All new employees are hired as entry level employees. The city of Bogalusa Finance Department employees are represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union, Local 89, AFL-CIO-CLC. Public Works Department employees are represented by Local 483, American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL/CIO. Promotions are made from within and based on seniority and performance.
