Name: Mary Jo Brown
Name: Harvey MarcellusLocation: Houston/TX Email: mbrow62@lsu.edu Date: 16 Dec 2007 Time: 22:24:22 CommentsI just happened across this site when a pal mentioned he was from the beautiful town of Bogalusa. I am pleasantly surprised by the southern charm and small town character I've found Bogalusa possesses. I especially enjoyed the pictures of the geese and the Christmas light display. My only criticism would be that the images were a little small for the mural album- I wish I could see the detail of all the wonderful little vignettes. I can't wait to visit this quaint town some day! Name: John CommentsNice site Location: Ridgeland, MS Email: marcelus.harveyw@med.va.gov Date: 27 Nov 2007 Time: 18:28:00 CommentsI'm a Police Officer with the Canton MS Police Department. I came by there on the way to the NO area during Katrina. I also browse the web to see things about the other, "Small Town" PD's. We, the small town departments, make up the bulk of the Law Enforcement in this great country. Hope your PD Section will have more about personnel and equipment later. Otherwise, this is a helpful and good web site. Good Luck. Hope I will be able to visit some day. I've been to Bogalusa a few times to visit them and would really like to go back as a tourist and see the many natural wonders I was not able to see before. Name: Wilma cherry Tate Location: Fairhope Alabama Email: meme251@msn.com Http Accept Language: en-us Date: 07 Jun 2007 Time: 15:02:36 CommentsBorn in Bogalusa 70 years ago and planning to move back. Mother was born when Bogalusa became a city and I have pay stubs from the Great Southern Lumber Company. As a matter of fact, while Grandpa Fare was driving his oxen one strayed and he retrieved it in the Creek. An open sore became infected and he died in his 30's leaving grandmother with four small children. I have many fond memories of my life in Bogalusa and know I will, again, when I return. ( I have a photo of Grandpa and his team of oxen.) The City of Bogalusa is deeply saddened by the events that took place September 11, 2001. Bogalusa salutes the military efforts of the Louisiana National Guard 205th Engineer Battalion and the 344th Army Reserve Ordinance Company on behalf of our country.
