Bogalusa Farmers Market
GENERAL
RULES AND GUIDELINES
- The
Bogalusa Farmers Market will be held every Saturday from June 5th
through October 2nd. Selling
will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m.
Farmers/vendors can begin setting up his/her Market Space at 7:00
a.m. on Market Days.
- The
Bogalusa Farmers Market is a “buy direct” event.
Farmers/vendors will only sell products which they grow or produce
themselves.
- Items
may not be purchased and resold for profit at the Farmers Market.
- A
Farmers Market representative will inspect each farm/garden at a
conveniently scheduled time.
- Space
assignment is made at the direction of the Farmers Market Commission.
All spaces are 10’ X 10’. No
space is guaranteed to be reserved indefinitely for a farmer/vendor.
The location determined for the farmer/vendor by the Commission is
not subject to dispute.
- Farmers/vendors
should inform the Market Commission by Thursday if they will NOT be
participating that Saturday. Telephone

- A
fee of $10.00 is due each Saturday and must be paid in cash.
(Initial booth fee is waived for Farmer/Vendor.)
- A
farmer’s/vendor’s acceptance may be rescinded based on diminished
quality of product, inconsistent attendance, or for any other significant
reasons.
- Farmers/vendors
are responsible for cleaning all trash and waste within and around their
allotted space. Garbage bins
are provided on the market site for this purpose.
If a farmer/vendor fails to clean-up, the Market Commission will
assess a $25.00 charge which must be paid before the next Market.
- Farmers/vendors
will not be allowed to engage in “hawking” (vocal solicitation) at the
Market.
- Farmers/vendors
are responsible for providing all tables and other items used in their
Market space. If a tent is
used, it should be securely fastened.
- Hold
Harmless Clause:
All authorized vendors participating in the Bogalusa Farmers Market
shall be individually responsible for any loss, personal injury, death,
and/or any other damage that may occur as a result of the
farmer’s/vendor’s negligence or that of its servants, agents and
employees. Since no insurance
is provided to participants in the Bogalusa Farmers Market, each vendor is
responsible for his/her own product liability insurance.

Applicant Statement: I agree to abide by the Rules and
Regulations of the Bogalusa Farmers Market. I further agree not to hold the
Bogalusa Farmers Market or its representatives and employees responsible for any
damages arising out of sales of my product or from my presence on the market
site.
